This allows people to watch TV, film and online videos and chat about them together regardless of their geographic location. TV is more like secondary media now. Social Media Advertising Campaigns and questions 1-3

 Arianna Grande advertised her R.E.M. perfume across YouTube, Instagram and Facebook. The perfume was very hyped; she modelled the bottle to look like crystals and she took inspiration from her "Break Free" song and music video collab with Zedd.  Here you can see that the 12th November 2020 is the date this advertisement was released. In the video, Ariana Grande is a superhero, she has to save the planet and her dog from the evil robot. This reaches her target audience of teenage girls and younger women aged 13-25 since this video is animated, the colour scheme includes lots of purples, pinks and whites and the storyline is interesting to them.      Here you can see the advertising campaign is on for about a week. She did a photoshoot for the R.E.M. perfume and posted the graphic design work on her Facebook and Instagram.  What is the long tail theory? Allows niche products to be accessed through the internet. Niche products are worth just as much as mianstream products. When did web 2.0 develop? 2004 How does it link to social media? Because of social media and the internet, everyone can post content and become influencers. This recommends niche and popular content and your preferences are known. Allows niche content to be accessed quickly.

              Disadvantages of Social Media: Moral panics is a theory that can be used to describe how the mass media creates folk devils out of products or groups of people. Creates fear.  LO2: The Long Tail Theory By Chris Anderson 2004- Way in which new technologies have enabled audiences to have choice over the amount of media they can access. Not just mass/popular but niche. Can be applied to music streaming, video on demand and streamed media. Through reccomendations (Web 3.0 or the Sematic Web) niche products are often promoted. The long tail model shows how popular things are found in online stores.
