Globalisation- Part of globalisation means producing, distributing and audiences consuming products on a global scale. Facilitating the exchange and diffusion of ideas cross-culturally. 

However some have argued that the media is actually a partial cause of globalisation, rather than just another globalised industry.

Media is largely a cultural product and this transfer of such a product is likely to have an influence on the recipient's culture. increasingly, technology has also been propelling globalisation.

Negatives: Removes culture



Twitter is a micro-blogging social media channel because you can have short tweets up to a certain character of words. Global social media channel, has access to other peoples opinions.


Wikinomics- Way in which the internet has changed who and how people and businesses can make money. 2006 theory by Tap Scott, Williams, internet has revolutionised economy of the world. Influencers, Tiktok stars, YouTubers.

Nintendo is a large conglomerate company that distributes games and games consoles to these countries:


Audiences can access their products in stores like: Nintendo E shop, Nintendo stores, GAME, Argos, Amazon, Currys, CEX....

Gender, ethnicity, class, age, sexuality- are these stereotypical?

The LOZ BOTW has different ethnicities, different genders, the fact that Link always has to rescue Zelda is a stereotypical woman in distress moment, why can't it be the other way around?

Task 3 examples of a product being marketed on social media- WandaVision

   WandaVision is a drama disguised as a sitcom TV show that is used to entertain the consumers. It is produced by Marvel Studios and it is targeted towards families, children, teenagers and marvel fans. The series is distributed on Disney +. 

On Instagram, they have used a line of images as a digital social media poster for each episode to tease them. They have chosen to use a key quote from each episode and let the fans speculate what the episode is about before it has launched.




On Twitter, they made emojis that updated for each episode to also help the fans speculate what is going to happen in the next episode. They have also used digital posters on Twitter that is based around the theme each episode.


They had Tiktok and Snapchat advertisements and Snapchat stories. The Snapchat stories influence interactivity by asking the audience to tap the story to see it. The Tiktok advertisements follow other Tiktok videos by using short phrases and a video such as "What I'd wear in WandaVision".



WandaVision's social media marketing relates to the younger target audiences who are digital natives and will use social media on a daily basis.
